Angi Ma Wong: Biography

The daughter of a diplomat and industrialist, Angi Ma Wong was born in Nanking, China, and has lived in New Zealand, Taiwan, and Washington, D.C. She was the founding president of Chi Delta Alpha in 1967, the only women's service sorority at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Ms. Wong later graduated from the University of Southern California and completed postgraduate studies at California State University at Long Beach and UCLA.

In 1989 she founded her intercultural consulting and corporate training service and Pacific Heritage Books in 1993, both dedicated to "bridging cultures for better business." Since then she has created and secured a niche as a pioneer and an internationally recognized authority on the U.S. Asian market.


Through consulting, seminars, training, public speaking, writing, and publishing, Ms. Wong facilitates profitability between Asians and non-Asians globally. Angi Ma Wong is an award-winning businesswoman and best selling author. In May 1995, she was honored as one of the "Outstanding L.A. Businesswomen of the Year" by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Merill Lynch and Ernst and Young, cosponsored Ms. Wong for INC. magazine's prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Ms. Wong's landmark TARGET: The U.S. Asian Market, A Practical Guide to Doing Business, published in 1993, was the first book written on designing, marketing, and selling to Asians on both sides of the Pacific, and won the Best Business Book of the Year Award from Bookdealers World... Night of the Red Moon (1994), a historical fiction based on the 1871 Los Angeles Chinatown massacre, was favorably reviewed in the Los Angeles Times, Asian Week, and the International Examiner, and was nominated for the Beatty Award for children's literature.
